CrowdSec analysis

CVE-2019-7276 is a critical vulnerability in Optergy Proton and Enterprise devices that allows remote attackers to achieve root code execution through a backdoor console. This flaw can be exploited without authentication, enabling attackers to fully compromise affected systems and potentially take complete control over device operations.

CrowdSec has been tracking this vulnerability and its exploits since 15th of October 2025.

CrowdSec network observations suggest that most exploitation of CVE-2019-7276 involves focused reconnaissance to identify viable targets. Attackers typically tailor their campaigns based on system exposure and configuration. It is unlikely that a given attack is accidental. In addition, according to the CrowdSec network, attack volume against CVE-2019-7276 has dipped slightly compared to the previous week. Although still commonly targeted, the decline suggests a cooling-off period. Long-term relevance remains, but attention is waning.

Attackers exploit the backdoor console by sending requests to /tools/ajax/ConsoleResult.html, allowing unauthenticated remote code execution on Optergy Proton and Enterprise devices. Both GET and POST methods targeting this endpoint are used to execute arbitrary system commands.
